By default, Rewind (macOS) will capture text you see in the following languages:

  • English

  • French

  • German

On macOS 13 Ventura or later, Additional Language Support can be turned on in Screen Settings to also capture text in these languages:

Audio Capture

Rewind (macOS) currently supports 57 languages for audio transcription.

You can select your Transcription Language within the Audio Settings menu. The language you select will be used to transcribe all audio that you capture on your computer.

We recommend choosing a specific language for the best possible transcription quality. Since that may not be ideal, we also offer automatic language detection, which can be enabled by selecting Detect automatically from the same dropdown.

⚠️ Please note that automatic language detection comes with slower speed and greatly reduced accuracy.
