Members on the platform have the ability to earn one of two versions of Top Voices badging on their profile, either as part of the LinkedIn Top Voices or the Community Top Voices programs. The gold Community Top Voices badge recognizes noteworthy contributors who share their expertise and experience in a specific skill or skills through contributions to collaborative articles (for example, Top Sales Voice). The Community Top Voices program is separate from the invitation-only Top Voices program, which has different criteria.
You can earn a Community Top Voice badge when members find you to be one of the most noteworthy contributors to collaborative articles for a particular skill. To earn a badge, you’re typically in the top 5% of contributors and one of the first 2500 badge holders for a particular skill. We determine the top 5% of contributors by looking at a variety of factors, including quality, engagement, and quantity of contributions. Quality contributions contain but are not limited to, personal examples, unique perspectives, and professional opinions. You can earn badges for multiple skills. One badge will be shown on your profile; you may choose which badge is displayed if you have multiple. There is no limit to the number of skills for which you can earn a badge.
The Community Voice Top Badge is active for 60 days after you earn it, but may be removed at any time if you post content on LinkedIn that is not additive (including, but not limited to, contributions that are copied, inappropriate, irrelevant, or unoriginal), or any violation of our Professional Community Policies. In order to keep the badge beyond 60 days, you must consistently contribute and stay in the top 5% of contributors for that skill; your contributions must remain relevant, original, and additive; members must continue to find your contributions within that particular skill set noteworthy; and you must continue to abide by our Professional Community Policies. Our members will appreciate contributions that share unique experience, expertise, or stories. If you have a badge for more than one skill, you will retain the badge for all skills for which you remain among the most noteworthy contributors in the 60 day period for that skill.
Your badge will appear on your profile, as well as next to your contributions in collaborative articles. If you do not want the badge on your profile, edit your settings on your profile to hide your badge.
Badges are given to members who add high quality contributions that include new personal experiences, opinions, and perspectives. You must contribute a minimum of three times within the same skill (not necessarily the same article) to be eligible to earn a badge, but that does not guarantee you'll earn a badge for that skill. Some skills have more contributors than others and may be more challenging to earn a badge in.
Within a skill, you must be in the top 5% of contributors and one of the first 2500 badge holders in order to be eligible to earn a badge. We determine the top 5% of contributors by looking at a variety of factors including quality, engagement, and quantity of contributions. Quality contributions contain but are not limited to, personal examples, unique perspectives and professional opinions.
Badges will stay on your profile for 60 days as long as you stay in good standing, and you must continue to stay in the top 5% of that skill in order to keep it beyond that 60 day period.
Progress Tracker:
The progress tracker will be a pop up above the contribution text editing box on any collaborative article where a member has contributed to three or more articles in the same skill name and will inform you of your rank amongst other contributors for that particular skill. It will update every 24 hours and your rank is dependent on a combination of the quantity, quality, and engagements of contributions that you have made within articles of the same skill category. You are eligible to earn a badge if you are in the top 5% of contributors and one of the first 2500 badge holders for that skill but must remain within the top 5% to keep your badge past 60 days.
Note: Community Top Voices must meet our trust standards, as noted in our Professional Community Policies . Community Top Voice badges are given at LinkedIn’s discretion and may be removed at any time without notice, including removal for violating our Professional Community Policies. Members must be in good standings with the community guidelines in order to qualify to earn badges and keep them.
