Earth Hits New All-time Highs

March 1, 2025

The bull market rages on, despite any ugly rumors you might here that it's over.

They love pretending that the bull market is done, because scaring you is good for business.

Telling you the world has never been a better place is just not good for the noisemaking community.

It's good for investors though! That's us...

Anyway, historic back-to-back years for the stock market now continues to expand broadly all over the world.

Here is the "Earth Index" closing the month once again at a new all-time high.

Notice how the United States barely represents half of this Index.

In some of the other Global Indexes, the U.S. carries a much higher weighting, over 80% in some cases.

50% of the Index is about right in my opinion.

You've got a lot of UK and Europe in this one, so it should be no surprise that the London FTSE 100 and the broader London FTSE 350 both closed the month at new all-time highs again yesterday.

Here is the broadest measure of European Equities, which include all the small-caps, mid-caps and large-caps, also hitting new all-time highs:

But keep in mind that the strength we're seeing in stocks is not just around the world.

The United States continues to push higher as well.

I've always considered Berkshire Hathaway to be a bellwether for the overall market, and almost as if it's one of the major Indexes, like the S&P500, Dow or Nasdaq.

Here is Uncle Warren's Holding company once again closing the month out at a new all-time high:

Remember when they lied to you about how Berkshire's cash holdings were a bearish indicator for the market?

Those people never even went back to look. It was easier to just make things up.

As it turns out, when Buffett has this much cash, it's historically been a great time to be buying stocks.

In fact, do you know when Uncle Warren had the least amount of cash over the past decade? It was the end of 2021, just before stocks had a major correction.

It's all public data. It's not that hard to find it. We know Warren Buffett is terrible at timing the market. And that's fine, because that's not what he's even trying to do anyway.

Journalists just like making things up.

The "Buffett Indicator" is another classic that Charlie Munger said they don't even use. It's just journalists making things up to distract their audience from what is actually important.

And speaking of important, we don't have bull markets without Financials. And Financials making new all-time highs is NOT a characteristic of weak markets. Historically, new all-time highs in Financials is something we see in healthy environments, where investors are being rewarded for owning stocks.

You're seeing it in Europe too.

In fact, the European Financials Index Fund has never closed higher at any point in the entire fund's history.

New all-time highs in European Banks are not exactly sending a warning that the world is about to fall apart.

It's the opposite.

Earth is hitting new all-time highs.

Mathematically, the world has never been a better place. They just won't tell you that on the evening news, because then nobody would watch.

Fortunately, we're not in the entertainment business. We're in the making money in the market business.
