Everyone loves a list. Since it's fair to say that right now on October 18th we're in the height of fall, I thought I'd share some things that I've been loving so far this fall, with little to no context.
1. #BookTok - Because reading a physical book feels extra right when it's chilly (send me your favorite #BookTok accounts pls!) 2. This pasta recipe - Spicy & Saucy Cherry Tomato Pasta
3. Butler coffee shop - The best pastries in NYC 4. Jo Malone Sunlit Cherimoya perfume - My friend wore it on vacation and now it reminds me of her 🥹 5. Therapy - Because it's the season for feeling moody and introspective
6. Nail art - Specifically from @nonnailartist (a Beacons creator! 🫶)
7. Evermore - A no skips album, imo 8. October 23rd 👀 |

I can't say too much yet about October 23rd, but just know that something big is going to happen on the Beacons Instagram. Mark your calendars! My one hint—make sure your digital products are ready to shine ✨
If you've been waiting for the right moment to set up your digital products on Beacons, let this be your sign. On a different note—before we get into this week's new feature I wanted to take a quick moment to do some reader shoutouts! -
🐾 Special shoutout to The Pawsitivity Patch, who responded last week to my email with a touching note. They recently started this brand to be able to give back to less fortunate animals, and will be donating 25% of all sales in addition to hosting virtual events for charities.
- 🐎 Special shoutout to RockinwQuarterHorses, a new Beacons creator who also responded to my email last week and introduced me to the world of roping life in South Texas!
-
🍅 Special shoutout to EugeFood, a newsletter started by an OG Beacons creator Eugene Wong that talks about the truth in fatherhood, motivation, recipes, and food hacks. Go subscribe and support!
Now I have to tell you about the craziest thing that happened over at Beacons HQ yesterday... |

ICYMI, something went down on our Instagram yesterday 😩
One of our product managers, Ben, accidentally launched Smart Reply to EVERYONE.
That's right—the feature that everyone has been clamoring for and jostling for spots on the waitlist is now available for ALL BEACONS USERS.
How it works is incredibly simple: just set your keyword, and when fans comment that keyword on your Instagram post, they get an automatic DM with your product link.
Find out for yourself why Ben said it's smoother than sliding into your ex's DMs at 2am. |

👉 Set up your own post with Smart Reply and tag Beacons on Instagram! We'll repost to share the love 🫶 |

I have something awkward to bring up today. We’ve noticed a trend lately of people referring to us on social media as Beacon - dropping the “S” from the end of our actual company name, Beacons. |
As a Kaitlin, honestly—I get it. My Starbucks cups say everything from Caitlyn to Katelynn to Katie to Kateland (my personal favorite), and while it’s not THAT big of a deal, it is something I wanted to point out. |
Names matter, and everyone can relate to how good it feels when someone remembers yours or even spells yours correctly. It’s just a little positive vibe that makes you think “Wow, that person sees me! They get me, how nice.”
Think about how you may have chosen the name for YOUR business, or even just your handles on social media. Most of us have graduated from those random, cringey early AOL screen names (mine was xokaitlinm—is my millennial showing?) to something that we feel truly represents ourselves and the image we want to project to the world. So the next time you’re typing quickly, double-check for me and make sure you’re not dropping that S in “Beacons."
Also, please don't leave me hanging and hit reply to let me know your most embarrassing former screenname. I’ll send 3 lucky winners $5 for a coffee (that you can put whatever name you want on!) and feature your submissions in next week’s newsletter, of course. |
Last week I shared a glimpse behind the curtain at my personal trip to France, but I wasn’t the only one taking a little time out of the office!
Several Beacons teammates have been on vacations of their own in the past few months, so I asked them to share the fun with all of you! This is also a great way to start getting to know who’s who on Team Beacons a little better 😉
Some of you may know Isabel, who leads our Ambassador and Affiliate programs. She went on a family trip to Southern California that included time at the beach, at Disneyland, a college football game at the Rose Bowl, and most excitingly an appearance on the classic game show The Price is Right ❣️ |
A lot of you probably recognize Kat from our creator success team, who recently went on a Europe trip which included Mallorca, Spain. She fulfilled a lifelong dream of Deep Water Soloing! She said it was an incredible experience climbing over the turquoise waters of the Mediterranean 😍
|
Head of Product Management Jacob is the driving force bringing a lot of your requests to life: when we start to hear strong support from you in the community around certain features or needs, Jacob leads the team to make those dreams a reality. He recently took his niece and nephew to Disney, making a different kind of dream come true 🥹
|
Max from our design team stays busy making your experience of using Beacons smoother every day. She recently went to Seoul with her best friends from high school where they lived out their biggest K-drama fantasy life! Highlights included random tourists stopping to take pictures of them in their rented hanboks. Max says she felt like a BLACKPINK member 🖤
|
Ivan, who you'll all recognize as the face of our social media, recently got to visit the South of France and Monaco with his girlfriend and their friends. It was his first time flying overseas! They visited a few small towns in the mountains and Ivan said he has never been somewhere with more beautiful architecture. Also, as a car guy, Monaco was DEF a highlight 🤩

That's all for this week! If you're feeling inspired, send me your fall favorites and I'll include them in the newsletter next week 💌 Thanks, as always, for being the best community! |
