Watt Better Time to Buy an EV Than Earth Month?
Watt Better Time to Buy an EV Than Earth Month?
With a $2,000 Silicon Valley Clean Energy (SVCE) rebate for income-eligible customers, plus limited-time EV discounts through nonprofit Ride & Drive Clean, Earth Month is the time to go full speed and make the switch to an electric ride. Charging and owning an EV typically costs less than fueling and maintaining a gas car. Many EVs can travel much farther on $5 of “fuel” than a comparable gasoline sedan. For example, an efficient EV like the Hyundai Ioniq can cover roughly twice the distance on that $5 of energy as a gas model such as the Hyundai Sonata. Use the SVCE EV Finder to compare models and see total cost of ownership, including lower fuel and maintenance costs.

Watt's Changing with SVCE Rebates? Increased Rebate for Heat Pump Water Heaters
Bigger savings are coming for heat pump water heaters! Starting May 1, the SVCE rebate will increase by $500; bringing the total rebate amount to $2,500. Plus, from May through June, you can snag an added, limited-time $500 incentive (that’s a $3,000 rebate). Heat pumps are 3-4x more efficient than gas or tankless units and can save the average home $300-$400 a year on energy bills when paired with an electrification-friendly rate.
Your home may be ready to go all-electric, no service upgrades necessary. Recent findings show that most homes can go electric on 100 amps. If you’re considering making the switch, SVCE rebates are here to help.

Watt Does Our Rate Tool Tell You About Potential Savings?
A rate plan determines how you pay for the electricity you use—and the right plan can lower your bill depending on the equiptment in your home and your energy use patterns. Use the SVCE Rate Comparison tool to compare your current plan with alternative rate options, see how shifting when you use energy can provide bill savings, and estimate how going electric will change your monthly bill. Pair the results with eHub to find applicable EV and home rebates and plan your next steps to go electric.

Watt's Up at the Campbell Library? SVCE Joins Campbell at the Electric Grand Opening
Join SVCE in celebrating the grand opening of the Campbell Library on Saturday, May 9!
The library received $500,000 in SVCE Community Grant Funding to upgrade the facility’s wiring and panels, and replace gas furnaces with cleaner, more efficient electric heat pumps and air handling units. These improvements will reduce energy use by 30% and eliminate the library’s dependence on gas.
