Hey DoSomething Members,
You’ve all been doing the most this summer. From sharing pre-driving mental health checklists with your friends to whipping up creative works for Camp Reboot, we hope that your summer of self-care was the boost you needed to start the school year with a fresh perspective.
If you joined us for Mind Craft, the first session of Camp Reboot, you know that creativity can be the key to processing the mental health challenges that life throws at us. We’re blown away by the works of art you’ve submitted already, and we want to see your creations! There’s still time to submit yours, so get your paint/yarn/clay/etc. ready and start creating!
Camp Reboot is still in session and we’re cooking up the next Reboot activity soon, so stay tuned for more mental health goodies! In the meantime, check out these stellar art prompts for some inspiration ✨ Let’s Do This! DoSomething |

"I initially had bigger plans for this piece, but I became burnt out and lost motivation for it," says DoSomething Member Nafeesa A., 18. "Once I got out of the rut i was in I was able to come back to it and I used the experience I had with this particular piece to create an artwork about the loss of motivation." |
"Painting has been an essential part of confronting and healing my inner child." I made this piece during a hard time of my recent adulthood, and I wanted to represent what being inside my head felt like when I was little," says DoSomething Member Savannah G., 24. "It was dark and empty and cold and I wasn't kind to myself, especially while others weren't being kind to me either. I needed to paint this to really grasp how different it is to be inside my head now. Now, there are colors and warmth and kindness and affirmations and I'm so happy to be in my own skin. And I hold that little girl in that painting close and I take care of her, so we can continue on together in love and peace."
Get in on the Mind Craft action by submitting your art (any medium accepted) today and sharing how it has helped you address a mental health challenge. You could earn a $2,000 scholarship! |
