Hey DoSomething Members,
It’s the first week of October and we are kicking things off with National Voter Education Week! We’re here to get you the information you need to make your voice heard at the voting booth, because taking civic action is the starting point for addressing the issues that matter most to you.
So, yes 2023 is an election year! While much attention may already be aimed at the 2024 Presidential Race, local elections around the country this year will give you a say in your next mayor, your next governor or even voting on important ballot measures. Here are just a few of the key races to watch. Now, why vote?
If there are problems in the world that, for better or worse, are living rent free in your head, voting is the best way to elect people that reflect the solutions you want to see. Electing officials with a message that represents progress within those very issues you care about is how things can get done.
And, we’ve got the tools to empower you to get out and vote:
Even if you’re not of voting age, yet there are more ways you can get involved: |
-
Werk the polls so that your community doesn’t fall short of staff at your local polling location.
-
Aye, aye Captain! Sign up to be a voter captain with DoSomething and we’ll support you in hosting voter registration drives in your community to get your friends registered.
