Hi DoSomething members, From October 15th to the 21st, this whole week is dedicated to road safety awareness for young drivers - say what?
Yup! And, we want to build a #ZeroCrashFuture by reducing distracted driving and its impact on drivers, passengers and pedestrians. According to the National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration, “there was a 13% increase in passenger vehicle driver fatalities of 15- to 18-year-olds between 2012 and 2021.”
It may be a little scary to get on the road as a new licensed driver, and with so much to do throughout the day, many distractions can get in the way of keeping safe, while getting where you need to go. So, let DoSomething help you pay this knowledge forward, by giving you the tools to help your friends become safer drivers!

DoSomething member Keysi B., 16 said, “Encouraging your best friend to stay safe on the road is important because their well-being matters to you. Whether they're a driver, passenger, or pedestrian, you want them to be safe and protected from any potential accidents or harm. By reminding them to follow traffic rules, wear seatbelts, and stay alert, you're showing that you care about their safety and want them to make it home safely. Let's keep each other safe on the road.”

“It is important to encourage my best friends to stay safe on the road because it keeps them and other people safe.”, said DoSomething member Emily D., 18 “You cannot control others actions on the road, but ensuring that you yourself are following safe driving rules helps in the long run.” |
Sharing those guides and tips, now that’s a W! |
