Sometimes it feels like inequities are lurking around every corner, like housing insecurity, climate change, education access, and lack of mental health resources. Ahhh! If these concerns are living rent free in your mind, don’t worry, DoSomething has the tools you need to raise your voice this election season.

Young New Yorkers are sounding off on the issues that keep them up at night ahead of the November 7th election! 

The Caribbean Research Center Lecture Series & our Art of Democracy program teamed up in October to bring city council members and local performers to students at Medgar Evers College in Brooklyn, NY. Our goal? To help participants understand the role that taking civic action in their communities can play in resolve in building a better city. 

Let's Talk About Climate Change… When it comes to fighting climate change, The Committee on the Rights of the Child are advocating for young people to have a place in the courtroom to voice their lived experiences from this growing crisis.

Banned 📚 Week Goes Out in Style… Teen Vogue hosted an event at The Brooklyn Public Library in Brooklyn Heights to discuss the current effects banned books are having on authors and young people’s access to certain reads. Panelists included author and model Geena Rocero, Emmy winning NBC journalist Antonia Hylton, and them's editor-in-chief Sarah Burke. 

CAMP STEM… Western Avenue Community Center in Bloomington and Illinois State University have partnered to give students the STEM experience for one week, which included classes on building and testing straw and bottle rockets. More STEM in schools? Yes, please!

An Evening of Action... The Service Learning Project wants to invite you to join a night of activism. Raise awareness about an issue you care most about and SLP will help guide you in your advocacy work. Join this virtual event for December 7th, 6:30pm - 8:00pm EST.
