Tomorrow is officially our 30th birthday, and we canāt believe that 3 decades of youth advocacy are already behind us! This isnāt just a celebration of DoSomething as an organization, though. Itās a call to show our gratitude to YOU and the thousands of other members who keep us going. DoSomething has always been about fueling young people to change the world for the better, but you all fuel US to keep up with the issues that you care about.Ā
Ā
We know your schedules are busy with school responsibilities, extracurricular activities, and so much more. Still, youāve all shown up to take action on issues that matter to you, and that still blows our minds! š¤Æ Whether that was picking up cigarette butts with GTFO, calling up your school administrators to demand better STEM resources, sharing the Vibe Check mental health guide with a friend, or participating in any of our other programs, you all helped make these numbers possible:
- 415,061 voters have been registered through DoSomething since 2018.
- Over 3,900 stories of climate injustice were added to the first every "Youth Map of Climate Injustice.
-
Ramadan cards were delivered to EVERY mosque in the United States.
- Nearly 5,000 mental health posters have been shared in schools, community centers, and more.
- 1,400,000 items of clothing have been donated.
We know that these stats are just the beginning, and we canāt wait to see how our members continue to make a positive impact on the world. Our birthday present š to ourselves is to continue fueling the next generation of movers, shakers, and innovators who will keep us going for the NEXT 30 years.Ā Ā
Thatās why weāre so excited about Generation Future, which is an opportunity for you to share your vision of a better tomorrow. The application to earn a $5,000 grant to support your work is open until July 12 and we canāt wait to read your application! The winner will join us in November at The Futures Ball, our 30th anniversary celebration, where weāll get to celebrate them in person. š

Fresh perspectivesā¦ In light of this springās onslaught of anti-African American Studies legislature, one Asian-American student is speaking up about how Black studies helped shape her worldview and understand her own identity better. Itās a cool crossover!Ā Ā Ā Ā
A win is a winā¦ A federal judge in Tennessee struck down a law that aimed to ban drag shows in public, claiming it was unconstitutional.Ā Some LGBTQIA+ rights groups are viewing this ruling as a victory that could set the tone for legal challenges to drag bans nationwide!
