Hey DoSomething Members,
It's National Voter Registration Day and just because 2023 isn’t a Presidential election year, doesn’t mean we can’t start stepping up our voter turnout game!
In fact, we often can have an outsized impact in local elections where our vote has a direct impact on changes in your community. Data from 2022 shows that young voter turnout was all over the place, with some states reporting as high as 37% while others were as low as 13%.
We know that young people are fired up about key issues, so we’re making it our mission to help you use your voice at the polls. That’s why we’ve teamed up with TurboVote to make registering to vote easier than ever as well as provide you with voter registration and election reminders!
We’ve got you, fam. Now it’s time to pay it forward and send this nugget of wisdom over to a bestie (or even sign up as one of our Voter Captains) because friends don’t let friends skip out on voting! Join us in smashing youth voter turnout records by registering to vote now.

Speaking of using your voices, our Art of Democracy program is here to help NYC members sound off on the issues impacting their communities.
We’ve been hosting Storybooth events across the city and since launching the series this year, young people have shared stories about the importance of increasing housing affordability, ensuring educational equity, and improving access to public spaces for recreation and community connection. |
