Trump tapped Elon to assist two NASA astronauts who they both characterized as “stranded” for eight months. Back in June, after Boeing’s Starliner capsule malfunctioned, NASA sent it home without its crew. But, “They’re not stranded,” headlines the latest piece from NPR, which is fascinating from an outlet that referred to these two astronauts as — verbatim — “stranded” in September, after a separate crew had just arrived with plans to bring them back in February. Certainly, nobody here is in danger, and yes, Trump is trying to eke out a political win for both him and Elon at the expense of Biden. But they’re not lying, by NPR’s own standards. We expect dishonesty like this from the virulently left-wing press. But we should not have to expect it from a press outlet for which, in a free society with a firmly established right to free speech, we are literally forced to pay. 

Tuesday night, the White House delivered a striking blow to federal workers nationwide: return to the office, or resign and receive full pay and benefits for the next eight months. Officials are calling it “deferred resignation” and estimate 5%-10% of workers will take up the offer. Now STFU and go get a real job.

Science Corporation (yes, that’s their actual name), led by Max Hodak, is pioneering biohybrid neural interfaces that integrate lab-grown neurons with living brains in order to repair and enhance cognitive function. He wants to concretize “phenomenal objects” (thoughts or cognitive constructs) into readable data, saying it may be possible to display an imagined scene on a computer or to “just imagine a sound and then download it.” Next steps: feature-length dreams in IMAX, real-time ESP, and brain-OS video games. We’re so close.
