Late last week, after meeting with International Longshoremen’s Associate President Harold Daggett — and as the nation inches closer to another potential strike over automation set to begin mid-January — Trump posted in support of the mob don’s union. “I’ve studied automation, and know just about everything there is to know about it,” Trump wrote. “The amount of money saved is nowhere near the distress, hurt, and harm it causes for American Workers, in this case, our Longshoremen.” Naturally, libertarians, principled conservatives, and average Joes who simply don’t like extortion found this disappointing. But Trump has never been a man of principle. He’s a man of high-level policy goals, which he sets out to achieve. If he had the power to destroy the mob without compromising himself, he would. At the moment, he doesn’t, so he’s making a deal. This is the difference between a politician and a businessman. Enjoy.

Last week, an independent watchdog probe found that 26 FBI informants were in DC during the January 6 riots at the US Capitol building, including 13 who entered so-called “restricted areas” and another four who entered the Capitol itself (a crime that sent ‘regular’ J6 attendees to jail). As a result, mainstream news outlets that had previously dismissed the possibility of fed involvement were forced to issue retractions and — wait. Actually, they all doubled down and declared the report a victory over “baseless claims spread by far-right political figures,” because none of the feds were found to have explicitly incited violence. That’s right, folks, nothing to see here! 26 feds were present for that thing we told you was the greatest affront to democracy since the Civil War, but don’t worry — not a single one of them told a MAGA Grandma to punch a cop (we think). Checkmate,
conspiracy theorists.

After apparently finding Jesus in prison while serving 14 to 18 years for murdering her boyfriend, Crystal Mangum has admitted that she fabricated the rape allegations against Duke lacrosse players that rocked the university in 2006, and which the media immediately framed as emblematic of systematic racism, white privilege, toxic masculinity, etc. “I hope [the players] can heal and trust God and know that God loves them,” she said. Cool, better late than never I guess, but just wondering: are the 88 Duke professors who placed an ad in the school paper that said that regardless of the “results of the police investigation,” something “happened to this young woman” — and the media who piled on — next up with their apologies? I’m not holding my breath, but in the meantime, I’m content marking this down as a massive L for academia, campus culture, and the madness of the mob.

To our international founders reading this: sure, you don’t have to build in the US… but if you want the ability to financially mog your home country? It does sort of help. As a reminder, trading on Polymarket is prohibited in the US but you can see the odds for free on Polymarket.com. |
