Friday, footage of California Governor Gavin Newsom personally clearing a homeless encampment went viral, further contributing to his “fascist” reputation on the left — which believes open air drug markets are a God-given right — and evoking further ire on the right — which is committed to hating Newsom no matter what he does. But this is obviously a great look. Two weeks back, following a ruling from the “conservative” Supreme Court that he himself encouraged, Gavin signed an executive order demanding his cities lose the Mad Max shit. LA, which is run by people even crazier than San Francisco, dragged its feet. So Governor Good Hair threw on some gloves and let the world know he agrees the LA government is run by unhinged losers, and he himself is not about that pro-crime life. Conclusion? You can make fun of him all you want, but, eventually, this man’s going to be your president.

Not content with handling its own domestic riots, the UK is now threatening to prosecute overseas poasters who violate its Online Safety Act, which targets platforms and users that spread “disinformation.” The London police chief has even suggested the country might try to have Elon Musk extradited for “incitement of hate.” Now, we can quibble with the Brits about whether trying to import another African migrant is really the solution to their open-border woes. But for their attack on American companies, potentially now facing multimillion-dollar fines for hosting content deemed unseemly by Sir Keir? Just pull out of the market entirely, plunge the country into an information dark age, and force them to negotiate. Want access to Instagram? Give us the Highlands. Twitter? The Cotswolds. Tantrums have consequences, and I bet lots of Americans would love a quaint second home in the UK.

Last week, crypto industry leaders, including executives from Coinbase, a16z, and Kraken, had a conference call with White House officials and a Kamala advisor. The media framed it as a potential shift in the Democrats' stance on crypto, as did some of the executives. But at the same time (literally, the same day) the Fed issued an enforcement action against Customers Bank, one of the few U.S. crypto-friendly banks left, that requires it to notify regulators 30 days before taking on any new crypto clients — in other words, Choke Point 2.0 continues unabated. If your single issue is Bitcoin, and you’re still drinking that Coconut Koolaid? I don’t even know what to tell you at this point. Left wing economic ideology relies on inflating the dollar to increase the size of the government. It’s fundamentally incompatible with Bitcoin. So stack sats while you still can, anon. They’re never going to stop.

Last week, a startup called Delphi launched an interactive video clone feature. As an introduction, Delphi creates digital clones of coaches, investors, advisors, and other thought leaders so that users can interact with them 1:1 (imagine getting personalized advice from Balaji Srinivasan, or Friedrich Nietzsche). Now, with video calling, you can seek advice in the most accessible format possible: the FaceTime call. If you’re a startup founder or an ambitious reader of this newsletter, you probably don’t have a billionaire investor on speed dial, and if you do, they’d probably block you if you hit them up every day asking to chat. Delphi has solved this problem, allowing you to get your questions answered, no matter how tedious or
embarrassing they are.
Chat with Delphi founder Dara’s clone here.
