It’s convention week, and the Daily Wire’s Matt Walsh is furious that Amber Rose, a feminist porn star “with a face tattoo,” is speaking. Now, Matt’s entitled to his opinion. But it’s crazy that he still doesn’t understand Trump. Don’s a very specific genre of free-spirited business boomer — the kind of man who goes to Key West in a suit, gets wasted at the nudist parade, and bangs a hooker. He loves money and his hot wife, and his hot wife (every one of them) loves the gays. Barron told him Amber’s kind of cool I guess, and maybe Kanye did as well. These were signals that pointed to a new demographic, which was enough for Trump, who understands he needs to grow his base. This is why he’s the zeitgeist presidential candidate, and Matt has a podcast. Happy for you Don, congrats again for dodging that bullet. If you did bang Amber, please don’t pay her with the campaign funds.

Elon now has both feet firmly in MAGAtown, after a tweetdorsement on the evening of J13 and a pledge to donate $45 million per month to a pro-Trump SuperPAC. Yesterday, the NYT characterized the endorsement as “uncharted territory” and a “break with tradition,” given that no leader of a major social media firm has historically endorsed a presidential candidate. While all factually correct, they’re forgetting how the town square has worked for 21 months now: it’s a town square, sure, but it’s owned by the local mad scientist — not the department of parks and rec. Nevertheless, it’s the only town square without roving cops on segways or 'open container' laws, so none of the revelers care what the owner’s doing. Where else would we go? That's the real uncharted territory.

Monday morning, following somewhat of a newsworthy weekend (see: the Republican nominee for President avoiding assassination by mere inches), MSNBC strangely made the decision to not air their daily politics roundtable “Morning Joe.” According to an inside source, the show was pulled out of fear that a contributor might make an “inappropriate comment” about the weekend’s events. In other words, the “news” show can’t be trusted to talk about the news. In response, host Joe Scarborough took to the airwaves yesterday and told his MSNBC bosses he would quit if he was ever pulled from air again. Which, honestly? He should definitely just quit. And then he should launch a podcast. Not only because the network insulted him, but because he’s clearly incapable of introspection. Terrible quality for a public intellectual, but great for another podcast boy, his next job.
