The FDA voted almost unanimously against the use of MDMA as a treatment for PTSD, a shock setback for the psychedelics sector. While MDMA (also known as “ecstasy” or “molly,” depending on your friend group and budget) is already prescribed in Australia for PTSD and depression, the committee came to a 10-1 vote that the “risks outweighed its benefits,” also highlighting there couldn’t have been a blind study if half the participants were tripping balls. Which… okay good point. But over 10,000 US vets commit suicide every year, we haven’t seen a new PTSD treatment in over two decades, and some two million Americans already use the drug. The risks? Do these “experts” hear themselves? We’ve been observing the risks of MDMA since the 1967 Summer of Love. It’s fine! Everyone is fine! Abolish the FDA, and let our boys see God.

Last week, three teens in Spokane, Washington were dragged off their e-scooters and arrested after leaving skid marks on a large Pride flag painted on the pavement. Now, is it a little strange to see this kind of police state overreaction from the “legalize crime” contingent of society? Sure. And is it a little bit surreal to read about the sensitivity crackdown while protesters in New York are waving literal “Long Live October 7th” banners? Well yes, fine, whatever. But look, our President’s crack-smoking son was just given a slap-on-the-wrist gun charge, which means our legal system is operating just fine. If you do the crime (insulting the latest batshit crazy left-wing religious iconography), you have to do the time (reeducation most likely, but preferably prison). Fair is fair. Enjoy your criminal justice, kids.

Tesla will hold their 2024 shareholder meeting tomorrow, where they’ll vote on reinstating Elon’s $56 billion stock award, struck down by a Delaware judge in January. Since the initial payout was nullified over technicalities surrounding Tesla’s board — whom the judge called ‘supine servants of an overweening master’ — the company is essentially asking for a show of hands: are you in fact a supine servant, or do you just want Elon well incentivized? While an estimated 90% of retail investors are in favor of the reinstatement, multiple institutional investors such as Norway’s Sovereign Wealth Fund and the CA teachers’ pension will be voting “no.” Ah right, and a Times op-ed argues a “yes” outcome is also bad for climate change. Basically, this is a referendum on capitalism, and fortunately, in this case, it looks like the capitalists want to win more than the socialists want Elon to lose. Not today, Satan.
