Sunday, the NYT published a story detailing its efforts to train two chatbots on Reddit and Parler posts, which — in a surprise to literally nobody — resulted in polarizing, political outputs. The story culminated in a terrifying warning: this election year, Belarusian content farmers dead set on radicalizing boomers will use AI to 10x their MAGA meme output, and flood our newsfeeds with lies. But aren’t boomers already radicalized? And aren’t our newsfeeds already flooded with lies? I’m frankly not convinced the fake news problem can get any worse, and also… what if an even greater flood of bullshit could actually make it better? On an internet entirely defined, rather than only partly defined, by lies, there will be nowhere for the lies to hide. Normies will finally be forced to develop a healthy sense of skepticism, and mankind will be saved. That sounds great, actually. Let the clown world come.

New UCLA med school whistleblower reports obtained by Aaron Sibarium at the Free Beacon show the school essentially operates two separate admissions systems — one for white and Asian applications, who are expected to have perfect scores, and one for black and Latino applicants, for whom the bar is “as low as you could possibly imagine.” The news has apparently surprised some affirmative action defenders who, while comfortable with race-based discrimination conceptually, bristle at the idea of getting operated on by doctors unable to identify arteries. Which, look. Time is limited. We can try to walk the people responsible for this decision through the axioms showing stupid premises lead to stupid outcomes, or we can all remember this kind of “affirmative action” is actually illegal under CA law (for now — more on that later). Just call the lawyers already. There’s a good case here, and I’m also pretty sure our lives depend on it.

Speaking on the FBI’s August 2022 raid of his Mar a Lago residence, Trump recently took to Truth Social to decry the fact that agents were authorized “TO USE DEADLY (LETHAL) FORCE” during their search. Clearly, some argued, this order proved Joe Biden was greenlighting political violence or even assassination. But don’t worry, guys, the bureau was quick to assuage those fears: “Every FBI operations order contains a reminder of FBI deadly force policy,” said former assistant director of counter intelligence Frank Figliuzzi. See, they weren’t out to get Trump specifically — the feds are ready to commit murder during ALL of their surprise raids. It’s standard policy! Nothing to see here, just courageous spooks with a great track record and absolutely no controversies in their history turning down the temperature before Election Day. Democracy = in good hands.
