DECEMBER WRAP UP
What we said and what we did
Our team needed a reset. Tina and I both checked out the week before the holiday and the whole team was out for the last 10 days of the month.
✅ ✅ Wrapping Up the Play Money Raise
There was no better way to launch into an end-of-year reset than with > 100 unique Angels and an oversubscribed $855K raised -- over 60% of it from Angels on our platform!
The vote of confidence is the ultimate motivator for our team. We've been default alive for over 9 months, but this new cushion of capital will let us further accelerate our experimentation and more quickly double down on what's working.
Our next goal: $83,333 in monthly revenue. ($1M annual run rate)
I want to be there by summer.
✅ Cross Team Projects
We pulled off our first cross-team coordinated projects in December and I was happy how all the pieces came together with zero involvement from me.
Wrapped is the one most of you would have seen.
⛔ Boosting Virality
While the cross team aspect of several recent "sharability" initiatives worked well, the overall impact of our last few experiements in this area -- wrapped, swag, badges, referral links -- fell short of our expectations.
It's not entirely surprising. And we are not giving up. I think there is more we can do on the marketing side around individual sharing. My last round of customer discovery provided some great new insights. We'll lock and load on some new experiements for this quarter.
Ultimately though growth is going to come through communities. And that is where the bulk of our efforts are going to go this year.
🙌🏼 Surprise Win
Wow, our December Interview with climate tech deal lead Andrew Eil resulted in so much positive feedback and we can see a clear line from that email to investments.
