Hiya, friends:
We’ll keep our message short and sweet today: your mental health matters. That’s it. That’s the tweet.
But in all seriousness, we care about you and your mental health, and we’re just checking in to make sure you’re doing okay. One of our favorite things about Gen Z–and we have A LOT–is how open you are to talking about your mental health. You’ve faced some pretty serious challenges, yet you’re never afraid to have tough conversations. We love that you take action to change societal norms and reclaim the narrative surrounding mental health and wellness. And, you’re committed to protecting not only your mental health but the mental health of those around you.
As we close out summer and head into fall (hello PSL season!), remember that it’s okay to not be okay. Know that you’re doing your best but that sometimes we all just need a break. You can always check out our diverse mental health resource hub for extra support. Because taking care of your mental health is the coolest thing you can do for yourself and the people you care about.
Keep your head up. We’re rooting for you 💕 Let’s Do This! DoSomething |

Speaking of mental health….check out these DoSomething members who LOVE talking and taking action on all things mental health. |
“The pandemic was a real turning point for many people. Feelings of isolation and abandonment started to set in. It is important to spread awareness and let those who are struggling know there is always help,” says DoSomething Member Monica, 18, who participated in It’s (NOT) All in Your Head. “Mental health is equally as important as physical health. Campaigning to advocate for this cause is very important.”
|
Meet DoSomething member Omosde, 20, who shared a Mental Note with his friends and family to spend quality time checking in on themselves. “Mental health is really important to me, and I feel there's a stigma surrounding mental health especially in African American communities. I did this campaign to reach out to my male friends and let them know that self care and mental care is necessary.”

Mental health can impact all aspects of our lives–even on the road. DoSomething member Colton, 18, joined our Road to Self-Care campaign to help friends remain safe and calm while behind the wheel. “This campaign is important to me because in today's society we as teenagers struggle with so many mental health issues. Being new drivers, we need to practice safe driving even when we are in emotional states. Staying calm and self-absorbing are great techniques to prevent accidents in the future.
See, isn’t it awesome to see your peers taking action to destigmatize mental health and advocate for tools and resources for everyone?! Join Monica, Omosde, and Colton today and keep making mental health a priority. Your mind is awesome. Let’s take care of it. |
