Hey friends!
Happy Tuesday! Can you believe that we are more than halfway through July?! We don’t know about you, but we’re determined to soak up as much summertime and sunshine as we can. And, that includes one of our favorite summertime activities…road trips!
We love everything about a road trip. From the awesome music to the fantastic views, road trips are simply the best. We also know that safety is of the UTMOST importance while driving, and we’re doing our part to stay safe and engaged while behind the wheel. That means eyes forward and the phone tucked away. If you’ve got a road trip planned this summer, we’re sharing tips and tricks to keep the roads safe for everyone–including your friends and family.

These DoSomething members know that safety comes first! They are taking steps to avoid distracted driving–and working to make sure their friends and family stay safe on the road: |
DoSomething member Savanna G., 17, said, “This campaign is more than important to me because driving is a privilege and should not be taken for granted. Therefore, as I drive and transport loved ones and friends, I find myself being extremely cautious. Personally, I cannot imagine losing someone I love, whether it be parents, pets, friends, or family. I cannot even begin to fathom a life without them. Therefore, with this approach, I drive safer and hope in the future others think about those close to them before being reckless on the road.”

“This campaign can save our loved ones from participating in distracted driving or being a victim of it,” said DoSomething member Kailyce H., 16. “Reducing the distraction of cell phone use on the road, I’ll even by using a piece of paper to dwindle the deaths that can be caused, we can make the roads safer.” |
“People need to be informed about the dangers of distracted driving and how they can prevent it,” said DoSomething member Cody S., 17. “Distracted driving causes many deaths for teenagers such as myself. It’s important for us to learn how to be safe and not be distracted while driving.” Join Savanna, Kailyce, and Cody this summer as we work to build a Zero Crash Future and keep our roads safe! |

Our hero today is…Hudson Rowan, the fourteen year old behind the viral “I Voted” sticker, that made the internet lose its collective internet mind! ICYMI…the universe is HUGE! Last week, NASA shared the deepest and sharpest infrared image of the universe so far.
Our Spotify recommendation…Lizzo (duh!), who released her sophomore album last week. The album is a perfect collection of songs of radical joy in the face of your past…and loving yourself anyway. Repeat after us: you are special!
