Hey, y’all,
We’ve got a lot to celebrate around here because today is DoSomething’s 29th birthday! 🎉 We’ve been around for almost three decades creating campaigns to help you take action on the issues that matter most to you! Time really flies when you’re having fun and doing something to make a difference in your community!
Here’s just some of what we’ve been able to accomplish together over the years: -
Through our Teens For Jeans campaign, we donated 5 million pairs of jeans to youth experiencing homelessness.
-
Through our See Us, Hear Us campaign, thousands of you shared your climate injustice stories as well as your visions for a green future.
-
We’ve registered 350,000 young people to vote!
-
Through our Power to the Period campaign, you have donated more than 585,000 period products to your local homeless shelters to provide menstrual products to those in need.
And these are just a FEW of the actions that YOU have taken over the years. Think about the multiplier effect of that impact over the last 29 years!
So, in the spirit of celebration, we’d also like to take a moment to celebrate YOU - our DoSomething members who have dedicated their time and efforts to creating real-life change and working to build a better future. Our members make up a powerful collective, and we’re so proud to have you be a part of it.

Take a stroll down memory lane with us and learn more about our past programs! Teens for Jeans |
DoSomething member Amanda, 19 said, “The Teens for Jeans campaign is important to me for a few reasons. I know that kids who aren't as lucky as I am will be receiving something that will make them feel just like any kid. This campaign also made me realize how much I take for granted. If I want new jeans, my mom just buys some for me. Also I learned that just because I have outgrown a pair of jeans, get tired of wearing them, or think that they're out of style, I shouldn’t just throw them out. Passing on jeans is a way to recycle them and help someone at the same
time.”

“This campaign is important to me because it gave me a chance to give back to my community! It inspired me to help others and bring smiles to their faces! It gave me a wonderful opportunity to make a difference in the world!” said DoSomething member Fiona S., 21.
Tackle Hunger |
“I believe that if we have extra, unused materials, we should donate those to people in need, as opposed to wasting valuable items,” said DoSomething member Ravin C., 17. “I connected with my local food bank and received information on what was needed. I now understand how the foodbank works and I signed up to volunteer there now. My neighbors and friends were also eager to help donate, and I dropped off their donations at the food pantry, furthering my connections with those in my more immediate community.”
Join Amanda, Fiona, and Ravin today by signing up for one of our programs. If you haven’t yet, check out our #ZeroCrashFuture program to take action and learn more about how to keep you and your loved ones safe on the road!
