Hey y’all!  We are SO excited because we just launched our new program, #ZeroCrashFuture! 🎉 April is Distracted Driving Awareness Month and we want to help you and your loved ones stay safe on the road! With summertime approaching, we know there are more road trips, outings, and long drives with friends so let’s talk about distracted driving and how we can reduce it.  Distracted driving is not safe driving. We know things like technology, other drivers, and even food and drink can be distractions! Let’s work together to build toward safer roads, more aware drivers, and a Zero Crash Future! Looking to keep you and your loved ones safe on the roads? Check out the steps below:  Step 1: Share your vision! Take our brief road safety survey and gain tips to lessen distracted driving. Then, in just three words, share your vision for a Zero Crash Future. We’ll add them to our first ever Community Vision Board AND you’ll be considered for a $1,500 scholarship.  Step 2: Put Your Phone To Sleep! Share a slipcover for phones to “sleep in” while driving, with tips and reminders to stay safe on the road and avoid distractions. Snap a photo of your phone “tucked in” and you’ll be considered for an additional $1,000 scholarship!Â
Let’s Do This! DoSomething
Looking for inspiration?  Check out what these other DoSomething members have said in the past about road safety! “I can't stress enough how important road safety is. When on the road not only should it matter to the driver and passengers but to every single living thing. Whether it's other drivers or our beautiful animals, it's important to look out for everyone not just yourself,” said DoSomething member Reem Z. DoSomething member Kayla N., said, “Road safety is important to me because if everyone is made aware of the dangers of being on the road, people will take more precautions to keep themselves and others safe. My goal is to raise awareness to prevent the number of people affected by vehicular accidents.” “This campaign is important to me because as teenagers we tend to drive under many circumstances that we shouldn’t, like being angry, in a rush, or even texting while driving,” said DoSomething member Jocelin J. “Taking 5 to 10 minutes before we drive to be calm and collect ourselves can ensure our safety and even save our and someone else’s life.”  Join Reem, Kayla, and Jocelin to learn how you can stay safe on the road!Â
Meet…Patrice Banks and her Girls Auto Clinic! She is teaching women all about car maintenance while creating a space for them to ask questions and feel good. We love to see women supporting women!  ICYMI… Friday marked the beginning of construction for what will be the world’s largest wildlife crossing for mountain lions and other animals in California!
