Hello DoSomething Members,
No cap, you’re looking pretty darn brave and optimistic today. It’s like they went and made a whole national holiday just for you because today is NATIONAL FACE YOUR FEARS DAY.
Together we get so much done: tackling the big issues like gun violence and climate change. But what about in your life? Is there anything you’ve been just a little afraid of and have been putting off? Maybe it’s getting started on a big school project or college app or even just organizing all of your tangled necklaces—been there.
One of the big things that many young folks put off is getting the proper vaccines for meningococcal disease—an easy and effective way to keep healthy and everyone should do it. Meningococcal diseases are rare, but can be deadly—especially for young adults.
Let’s get ourselves up to speed about this step to health and spread the words to our friends! You could even win a scholarship. Let’s Do This! DoSomething
Today is national face your fears day! (October 12). Get out and eat that frog!
Our hero today is… Damian Williams, the first black United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York (SDNY)! A U.S. Attorney is the top federal prosecutor in regions across the US. Many of the highest profile cases in the country are tried in the SDNY.
