Check out what these DoSomething members have to say about our Strength Through Service program and why they chose to participate in our actionable campaigns!
“This campaign is important to me because growing up my mom wasn't able to get me and my two brothers new clothes,” said DoSomething member Angel, 17. “Now that me and my family are in a better position I want to go back to my early childhood memories and help out people that are in a situation I was once in.”
“This campaign is important to me because I believe that taking care of our environment is of the utmost importance. Our planet has blessed us with so many amazing natural resources, and it is our responsibility to use those resources properly. A part of using them the right way includes disposing of them the right way too. For aluminum cans, this means recycling. I want to teach people to steward our resources well,” said DoSomething member Alexis, 17.
“This is important for me because I grew up in Puerto Rico and I know how so often, homeless people aren't given the desperate help that they need,” said DoSomething member Lorena, 17. “Because of this, it's important for me to help provide some support.”
DoSomething member Preethi, 16 said, “Something that I’ve always been passionate about is for feminine hygiene products to be free. Period products are a necessity for all people that have their period, and since it’s not as accessible at this time especially for homeless people, I hope to do as much as I can to help out in some ways!”
“I have lost many family members and family friends to throat and lung cancer caused by smoking. So this campaign hits close to home for me and my family,” said DoSomething member Maddison, 18. “Together we spent the day going to our local parks and around our neighborhood collecting as many as we could. It’s also imperative to keep the Earth clean. We only have one home so let’s take care of it.”
Join Angel, Alexis, Lorena, Preethi, and Maddison to help impact YOUR community!
