Hey y’all!
This week we’re doing a lot of celebrating! There’s St. Patrick’s Day (3/17), Holi (3/18), and Global Recycling Day (3/18) so, with colors and the environment in mind, our focus this week is all about going green! There are so many ways for us to take action to not only protect the planet but also make an impact in our communities! Our Strength Through Service program offers campaigns that can help you get started!
If you’re planning to clean out your closet, consider donating those clothes to people in need through our Comeback Clothes campaign or join us in celebrating Global Recycling Day by taking part in our 5 Cans Challenge to improve the waste processing in your community. And now that there’s FINALLY more sunlight during the day, Get The Filter Out is the perfect campaign for us to get outside and help the environment by cleaning up cigarette butt litter in our communities! Whether you’re on spring break or you have some time during the week or weekend, you can take action
through these campaigns to leave a long-lasting impact!
These campaigns help people and the planet, but they can also help you! You can earn volunteer credits and, for each campaign you complete, you’ll also be considered for a $1,000 scholarship! Sign up today! Who knows? Maybe it’ll be your lucky day! ☘️

“This is important to me because I want my community to be clean as well as the environment. It was a crazy experience seeing how many cigarette butts were in a park,” said DoSomething member Jimmy D., 15. |
DoSomething member Padma J., 15 said, “This campaign is really important to me because it can help reduce the massive landfills used to dump trash. That will become one of our greatest problems later on. By collecting these cans from parks and streets, we are reducing the waste by recycling them. Thus allowing for less to be produced and more to be reused. Thank you for this opportunity!” |
“Learning about how much clothing contributes to greenhouse gas emissions, I think it’s important to donate as much as you can, said DoSomething member Caroline T., 17. Join Jimmy, Padma, and Caroline and go green! |

Today we are inspired by… the partnership between sitcom Abbott Elementary, ABC, and Scholastic who will be providing free book fairs to underfunded schools! We LOVE this! ICYMI… Twitter account @PayGapApp, which is run by two women, called out the pay gaps at companies who tweeted for International Women’s Day 👀
