How to Create a Video Using Instagram Reels

Boost My Business with Tan France is an original show on Facebook Watch where fashion entrepreneur and host Tan France visits small businesses around the world, helping their owners adapt and grow online. While Tan offers personalized advice to each business, his tips apply to anyone looking to do things like level up product photos or create more engaging videos. We’ve adapted several episodes of Boost My Business into a series of easy-to-follow how-to videos, and this week we’re showing you how to create ad content using Reels — a tool that lets you create short, entertaining videos on Instagram.

Join Facebook Creative Shop's Becky Owen and Julius Ibrahim, owner of Second Shot Coffee as they walk through creating a video using Instagram Reels. Becky offers a step by step tutorial and a few creative pro tips, like:

  • Think about each of your steps and create a storyboard or visual plan for what you’ll capture
  • Add bold movement to help your video stand out
  • Use the eyedropper tool to color-match your brand’s colors to your copy
  • Save your Reels to your phone since you can’t promote Reels directly on Instagram. Upload the video via the Promote feature when setting up your ad campaign.
