June’s Best X-Plane Add-Ons

Thomson Meeks

Here are some of our favorite add-ons from the month of June, 2019.

Scenery

June was a huge month for fresh scenery. We released X-Plane 11.35 (currently in open beta) with Washington D.C. and New York landmarks and there were several high profile releases from the community.

Orbx released their long-awaited TrueEarth Washington State scenery this month! This package includes 91,875 square miles of HD scenery and all sorts of landmarks and cities.

First a payware hub – Runway 26 Simulations released their Miami International in June on simMarket. This airport is perfect home base for your South American or Caribbean hops.

Summer is the perfect time to enjoy some VFR fun – especially with super detailed scenery. France VFR released a package with over 500,000 obstacles and landmarks to make your flights even more scenic.

XCaptain released a beautiful freeware Philadelphia International (KPHL) this month. Team X-Plane flies out of this airport often on legs to Europe and this package makes us feel right at home!

Utilities

Navigraph released a major update to their chart service this month. The update includes a bunch of helpful flight planning tools like SID/STAR visualization, intelligently-generated custom routes and integration with our built-in FMS. You can read more about this update on FS Elite here.
