Hey y’all!
I’m prettttty excited. Why? Because it’s National Absentee Ballot Day… and my absentee ballot should arrive aaaany second now! (I’ve been checking the mail, like, thirty times a day. Sorry not sorry, neighbors.) Once my ballot arrives, I’m filling out and putting it in the mailbox faster than you can say “USPS.”
Have you requested your absentee ballot yet? Today’s the day! You can join the millions of young voters voting from afar this year. Because sometimes a ballot box...is a mailbox.

October 13 Is National Absentee Ballot Day
Request your ballot *now*, so you can receive, complete, and mail it in on time! In 2020, more young Americans are expected to vote by absentee than ever before. There’s a lot of misinformation out there, but the truth is, during COVID-19, absentee voting is safe, convenient, and the perfect way to vote if you’re away from home.
Here’s how to celebrate National Absentee Ballot Day and use your absentee vote as a powerful force for change.
1) Request your ballot. Use our ballot request tool. Every state has its own request deadlines, but your best bet is to request your ballot now.
2) Receive your absentee ballot in the mail. Research the candidates and issues on your ballot.
3) Complete and turn your ballot to cast your vote. Be sure to read all the instructions and return your completed ballot ASAP. (Definitely *don’t* wait until Election Day.) DoSomething members Grace (17), Jasmine (17), and Andrew (15) made a total 35 no-sew masks, adding to the 18,980 masks the DoSomething community has created and distributed. Use our easy guides to make your own masks and save lives.
